Java Fog: Special Guest: Circle of Ash

I’m very pleased to bring to you Mark, one of the member co-owners of a local Cedar Rapids, Iowa haunted attraction called Circle of Ash.

For this episode, I get the pleasure of sitting down with him to discuss the haunt, what it’s like to run and participate in one and get into some of his interests that lead to him wanting to get involved in this project.

Do you like to get spooked? Do you want your endorphins on overload as you see the creeps of the night? Go to www.circleofash.com and check out what they have to explore.

Java Fog: On Slipknot

At the time of this recording, it is the Autumn equinox and because I make it a thing to listen to the music from this band especially during this time of the year, I figured it would be a good idea to finally do the retrospective of the band that has been one of my absolute favorites since I was a teenager.

I’m going to go through each studio release giving my commentary about them and talking about the history of the albums. Join in, friends.

Super Arrogant Bros: Code Vein Review

The day that Code Vein came out, Steve was praising with his thoughts on the game from the same publisher as Dark Souls and while this game has a Dark Souls vibe with the controls, it’s still its own game.

Have a seat and listen in as Stev gives you his in-depth thoughts on what he loves and dislikes about this new game.

What are you thoughts on Code Vein? Let us know in the comments.

Java Fog: The Kyle William Morgan Murder

As far as I’m concerned, the Halloween season is already upon us and I’m going to start off by reading some articles that describe the violence and macabre of a true monster, Kyle William Morgan. When you look at his story, you see a man who grew up as a perfect example of an edgelord, a man who tried too hard to be spooky online but was more than capable of committing atrocities in real life.

Morgan’s story is a cautionary tale of keeping certain mental illness in check and whom to trust.

The music for this week is by Scum Of the Earth who deserves to have your eyes and ears. Be sure to look up their music and give them some Facebook support.

Super Arrogant Bros: One Angry Gamer Or One Angry Boomer

Do you enjoy having your freedom of speech in your games without some old fart making issues out of a non-problem?

Enter One Angry Gamer who made a name for himself in the GamerGate days. What is he doing now? Crying about the inclusion of a Trans flag and warning us about the problems for our kids as told by someone who doesn’t realize that an E for Everyone rating by ESRB doesn’t just mean it’s a game for kids.

Strap in as we go to Boomertown, USA

Java Fog: Disposing Bodies In Space

I received a couple of very interesting articles for this week. The first one details what happens if you send an unsolicited “sausage” picture to someone who didn’t want it while you’re in Texas. Gone now are the days of sending ding-dong pics without some form of consequences in Texas.

The second article reveals what will most likely happen to your body if you die in space. I’ll give you a hint: it doesn’t involve a Spock-like funeral.

Super Arrogant Bros: Stev Tries Battle Royale

After Stev told Dirk about a dream he had of playing Fortnite for the very first time, Dirk decided it was time to settle this entirely and have Stev actually play the damn game. What were his thoughts?

Join us as we have a very news-heavy episode followed by feedback from a listener who had his Fortnite account banned.

Java Fog: Reading Edgar Allan Poe #1

This week, I wanted to do something different. For whatever reason, people seem to enjoy it when I read for them. I don’t know why. But let’s use it.

I’m going to read a couple poems by Edgar Allan Poe followed by one of his short stories. If you have material you want me to read for the show, feel free to send it but make sure that the text is public domain and not copyrighted.

Special thanks to An Old Sad Ghost who allowed me to show their music on my show. Check them out at anoldsadghost.bandcamp.com to listen to more.

Super Arrogant Bros: Make Platforming Great Again

Look, let’s be very honest here. Today’s platforming genre is at a bad point. Gone are the simple days of great platforming games. The last great Sonic game was two years ago but before that? You get the idea.

AAA platforming games are not up to snuff with what we have been able to see from indie titles. Why is that?

For news, we get to have something amazing coming from Projared but at the same time, more awful news from Zoe Quinn. Tune in for a specially packed episode.

Music by TeknoAxe, Iron Minstrel and The Smash and Grab Ladies

Java Fog: World of Warcraft Classic

After 15 years and with many of those years longing for the nostalgic feeling of the past, we finally have World of Warcraft Classic. What was it like when I was finally able to get in outside of doing a beta test? For now, let’s just say that the hype is very, very real.

This week’s episode features music from Somnus, a side project of Lord Lovidicus. Be sure to check them out on Bandcamp.
